Our Mission
The Sustainable Environment Foundation, a charity founded to promote public awareness of and research into the role played by the built environment in climate change.
It exists because the urban environment should be the focal point of research and action to reduce environmental impact and green house gas emissions.
Its specific objectives are to:
1. Promote the benefits and means of reducing carbon emissions in the development, maintenance and occupation of the urban environment.
To achieve this objective, the charity via its partners, the media and its own communications promote to both the public and to the business community the benefits of reduced carbon emissions in the urban environment.
2. Advance the education of the benefits and means of reducing carbon emissions in the development, maintenance and occupation of the urban environment.
To achieve this objective, the charity undertakes a range of educational and training activities designed specifically to provide knowledge of the reasons for and the ways to reduce carbon emissions.
3. Support research which will lead to the reduction of carbon emissions in the development, maintenance and occupation of the urban environment.
The Sustainable Environment Foundation will provide both facilities and grants to facilitate this research.
The Sustainable Environment foundation is an independent charity which exists to change attitudes and behaviours to reduce carbon emissions in the urban environment. |
